Our Food Art 11 class made gift baskets for Mother’s Day. The baskets were filled with an incredible selection of gifts from the kitchen: almond roca, blubarb jam, turtle chocolates, chocolate suckers, cookie dough, bath candies, bath bombs, body lotion, minute manicure, and much more. Everything was hand made and assembled with love. Each students left class with a beautiful gift for Mom, or any women that played a significant role in their lives

Our new semester is well underway. Mrs. Hall’s grade 8s are learning to make pizza, and Mrs. Ramsden’s grade 10s are learning to make pizza pockets. Anything to do with pizza is always a big hit with the students.

Mrs. Hall and Ms. Kim’s grade 9 Foods students completed their unit on cakes with cake decorating. Each student made a cartoon cake, and each class made mountains of brightly coloured frosting. They were given some basic instruction on how to work with straight tips and star tips. You can see from the photos that they all made some incredible works of art – almost too good to eat!

Mrs. Hall and her grade 8s made Rotini Roma and Cheese Twists (pasta with a meat sauce and a spicy cheese biscuit). It was their first chance to prepare a full meal, and they did a fantastic job. Also, everything was ready to eat right before lunch – now wasn’t that great timing!
